First anniversary of the 4400 cancellation : Game Over !

It's a sad day for all 4400 fans...
Just one year since Scott Peters announced the cancellation of our favorite show, we still have no answers about what really happened...

What fans have done since December 18th 2007 ?

- The Sunflower seeds "revolution" : From all over the world , fans bought and sent sunflower seeds to Bonnie Hammer . We also sent letters asking for a last and real final season... It was probably the main operation. We got a great exposure in medias, but USA Network just ignored us...

- As a result of that, we tried to contact Jeff Zucker, NBC exective (NBC owns USA Network) and sent letters again...

- We also opened a website (no more online) and opened a worldwide petition that finished with 26 301 signatures (added to the Usa Network forum yesterday, for archiving purposes)...

- Finally, we produced a DVD, and tried to spread it to important people in USA medias industry (The Markeds) as a kind of press kit, trying to explain why the show should get a real end...

After one year of intense cooperation with a lot of fans all over the world, I must admit that I am quite sad...

We used all our abilities : unfortunately, this was not enough in a world ruled by money... This is my conclusion about USA Networks politics... I met wonderful people and spent a lot of time trying to save our show !

I would like to specially thank Alexandra, Bora, Dee, Megan, Melinda, Mike, Ronnie, Baris, Victoria and all the ones who shared with me this great journey ! I will stay tuned of any new evolution and will publish any news that could give us hope... Take care of the ones you love, this is the main message of The 4400 !

I am so sorry, we failed saving The 4400 ! We have now to wait until Bonnie Hammer will leave USA Network ! Buy the books, this is probably the only thing we can get now....

NO, no it wouldn't be, so I got a proposal to meet where the USA network headquarters are, in july 11th, 2009, 5 years since the series was premiered."

One year after Scott Peters announced the cancellation of The 4400, I still wondering why our favorite show was canceled... I have been looking on the web and did not find any real explanation from USA Network. The answer is obvious : there is NO reason !

I found some few things about USA Network president : Bonnie Hammer ! Here are a few quotes from other victims who get their show canceled :

From a Farscape fan : "(...) You cancelled “Farscape” and are airing “Tremors: The Series.” I’m not a religious man but at times like this, I hope there is a Hell. "

From Capperwiki : "Ms. Hammer joined the Sci Fi Channel and in 1998 replaced Barry Schulman (a big Mystery Science Theater 3000-booster, who renewed the show for its 10th -- and final -- season before leaving). She is the one whom Cappers blame the most for the cancellation of MST3K (...)."

From Deep Ape blog : "Despite dragging the network (he is talking about Sci Fi) down into a disgusting, rippling orgy of pro wrestling, paranormal reality shows, and atrocious b-movies starring actors who once appeared on Stargate, she has helped the network rise to a “No. 6 channel” — apparently, at the cost of actual, good science fiction."

From Wikipedia (has been removed on 23rd January 2008) : "Hammer is a published author and an accomplished photographer. Many fans of the sci-fi network wish she would quit that job and concentrate on her accomplished photography."

From a Stargate Atlantis fan : "Hey ! with NBC's sense, and Bonnie Hammer's great judgment, maybe they will put SmackDown fake wrestling on OXYGEN woman's channel! They just bought OXYGEN for a billion dollars. And then fired a quarter of the people out of their jobs on that channel."

Well, you can find many more testimonies like these ones, just asking to Google... It really seems that Bonnie Hammer is well known to remove shows and boost ratings with "easy" and "short" crappy stuff for mass people ! Dear fans and friends, we can just hope... and keep hoping for better days...

Mexico joined the movement

Here is Nadia, a 4400 fan from Mexico ! Once again, a proof that our show is really universal and is able to touch everyone... everywhere ! She sent the DVD press kit to Jay Leno ! Let's introduce Nadia :

"My name is Nadia Sánchez, I´m from Mexico City and I m a graphic designer. I think that´s very important to have TV shows that bring something positive to our lives instead of meaningless violence or superficial boredom. I used to wait in excitement all week to see the 4400 (and curiously my father too) and was very disappointed when I heard that they canceled it.

The 4400 is a show that bring hope and enlightment to peoples lives, it has united people from all over the world so I sincerely hope that there`s a TV network who's willing to pick up the challenge and give it a proper ending. All the fans want it, deserve it, and if we keep at it I´m pretty sure will get !"

New Online Petition Reached 3000 Signatures !

Most of us have heard about www.savethe4400.com (no more online) that collected 26 000 signatures (they are available in the Press Kit) ! A new online petition appeared (check links), created by G. V. Marsala. Since a few days, we have up to 3006 additional signatures here !

Dear fans, after a too long period of inactivity (due to many personal and technical matters), we are finally back...By the way, I received a picture from our french friend Davy who sent his kit to David Letterman : thank you very much Davy ! I do hope we will be heard.

Les Moonves, the CEO of CBS-Paramount (they publish the dvds of the show) has been marked too, (that means he received a kit) by NTACVic who is also working to make "audio books" from her fanfics. They will be available first in french, but if we find some volunteers, we could easily translate them to other languages...

We can also tell you that our dear Megan (she may be the USA 4400 fan number one ! You can see her in the very beginning of the Save The 4400 videoclip) is preparing to answer all questions from Dave Kolpak of Associated Press for a brand new article ! We wish you all the best Megan...

It was the first show filmed like a cinema movie, with a good scenario and very good actors. We also appreciate Lost, Heroes, Invasion, Jericho, Taken, and other series like Friends, Experts (Las Vegas is the best one according me), Prison Break, Dexter, and Desperate Housewives… We discovered The 4400 in 2005 and we loved it immediately. The season 4 was aired this year (2008) in France. We are very disappointed of its cancellation. We want to take part at the saving operation.

This fabulous series must have an end, as a proof of respect of all the viewers in the world who watched and loved The 4400. I must say that I am a really a series addict with Alias, Battlestar Galactica, NCIS, Bones, Experts (Las Vegas is the best one, but I like also the others) and of course ... The 4400 ! I am also addicted to martial arts (Muy Thai), role playing games and movies (especially horror and fantasy).

Here is a fan made "Save the 4400 : The Markeds" DVD kit ! It has been made by NTACVic from France. She wrote a small text to introduce herself and explain how much she loves the show :

"Hi! I'm NTACvic. I live in France. I'm studying business. I'm a huge fan of The 4400. I also like to write fan fictions, about this show and NCIS. Like many other fans, I was very upset when I heard USA Network cancelled the show. So, I started to write a season 5 fanfic. I'm trying to answer questions and to develop new story lines. Finally, after hundreds of downloads of the DVD, we finally open the new registrations. We will start with 11 Markeds who will receive the DVD. We want to spread the information wider to get more and more support from medias and fans. This is why they will be mostly from medias (newpapers, talk shows, ...)

Well, many of you have already built the kit (burn the DVD & printed the covers) ! The new registrations will open soon (see below), and some fans have already asked to register because they can't wait ! That's a good news...

So, I was wondering : how to make 4400 fans personally involved in this operation ?

I mean, all of this is possible with fans support (actually coming from 52 countries) ! So, if you want, send a picture of yourself with your kit in hands and write a short text as introduction, then I will publish it here !

Good news : 4400 fans are registering every day to download the DVD ! Some of you asked how things will be organised for the shipping :

After you have downloaded, burnt and printed the cover of the DVD (this is what we call "building the kit"), you will have to register again (by the way, if you send me a picture of the kit you built, I will publish it !)

From 1st to 8th September 2008, I will open "new registrations" to ship the kits to the "markeds" (The markeds are influent and powerful people in USA in a list that has been built by the "Save the 4400 Dream Team" and many fans). This way, all new registered fans will receive a "marked" address by email to send the kit to...

The Worldwide Shipping Date : 09.09.08 (9th September 2008) !

By the way, if you have already downloaded the DVD and burnt it, please have a look to the DVD ROM content : you will find a lot of information about our movement since its beginning. You could use it to write a short letter to your "marked".

That's done ! The very first "Save The 4400 : The Markeds" DVD Press Kit has been shipped to our "favourite" marked : Dave Kolpak, from Associated Press.

He was one of the very first journalists to give us attention and allowed our movement to have a big presence in various medias. He was very friendly and did a very good job. So, that's up to you again Dave ;-)

By the way, let me give you the steps to join our operation :

First you have to register (see this news). It's absolutely free and your email adress won't be spread or used for something else !
You will get the link (by email) where to download the DVD iso file.
Now burn it (tutorial) and print its cover (all files you need are in the DVD or here).
When ALL these steps are done, contact me to get your Marked adress where you will ship the DVD !
Tell me (by email) WHEN you sent it and, if possible, give me a tracking number : so I will be able to blog the good news !

Dear friends and fans, I would like to share with you some information about the next step of our "Save The 4400 : The Markeds" operation.

Today, I just sent the link to all registered people to download the DVD. Here is how to burn it.

So, you have downloaded the ISO file, that means just a one and only single file that contains everything of the original DVD structure, just like an ZIP archive. You won't need to extract anything.

Here is how to do with NERO BURNING ROM (the most used) :

Insert a blank DVD in your DVD-RW drive.
Start Nero Burning.
Follow the wizard steps to select Data CD or DVD creation.
When the wizard closes, click Burn Image on the Recorder menu.
In the Open dialog box, select the ISO file, and then click Open.
In the wizard, click Burn to write the image to the DVD.

Most burning programs can easily burn ISO files. Check the help function (usually by pressing F1) of your software and search for the word ISO. You can use a DVD-RW and try it before burning it for real... If you have any question... Contact me !

Dear friends and 4400 fans, from all over the world many of you are complaining (and they are right) about the cancellation of our favourite show : The 4400.

Many things were done but USA Network simply ignored us. A few months ago, some fans united their abilities to create a press kit that should be sent (on DVD) to people that have been marked by fans because of their influence and power in medias in USA.

After 4 weeks of silence (due to personal concerns), I am very proud to announce that this DVD will be released this month and will include the press kit, the fans video clip, past trailers and many more...

Just consider it as a gift to our community and a last chance to save The 4400 show. You can track the progress here. Thank you for your interest and support !

Alpha is the first letter of the greek alphabet, and is used for the beginning of many things... I thought it could easily be used as a title for the very first beginning of this blog.
